Diablo II: Resurrected’s alpha only included the Barbarian, Amazon, and Sorceress right out of the gate. Using this old mod, players were able to gain access to four other classes that were not supposed to be playable in the alpha. When your character loads in, they will be that chosen class no matter what.
Basically, when you make your character, you use the mode to tell the game that they are a different class than what they actually are. The mod in question here is a Hero Editor mod, which has been around for some years now. In fact, some old mods from the original Diablo II apparently work in Resurrected. Diablo II: Resurrected is very similar to the base game, which is why you can transfer older saves. However, it was quickly discovered that an old mod for the original game would let players use other classes not in the Diablo II: Resurrected alpha. Players even got to try the game out this past week with a limited-time alpha. The classic game will receive a full HD update, along with other tweaks and modern conveniences. Fans have requested an HD update for Diablo II for years, and they got their wish this year at BlizzCon 2021.

Enemy Multiplayer increases the monsters from double to ten times as many as there were before. Splash Damage to melee makes enemies nearby take half the damage you’re dealing. Better SP provides all-around improvements to single-player like faster walking and running, increased inventory and stash size, with a slew of other features.
D2R, specifically, increases the likelihood of getting good loot from tougher enemies, while Guaranteed Drop will make every single enemy drop an item. Mods like D2R Drop mod and Guaranteed Drop mod both let players mess around with drop rates of items.
